The admin does more of this than merchants expect. Shopify has a bulk editor for metafields and names what it covers: products, variants, collections and customers. Definitions, types and validation are all native. So the honest question for anything on this page is which of the gaps it closes, and there are three specific ones.

The limits are published and worth knowing before you design around them: a couple of hundred definitions per resource type, most values capped at tens of kilobytes, and list types bounded in how many items they hold. Category metafields also already exist natively, unlocked by assigning a standard product category, which is the overlap most people miss before installing anything.
