Shopify has no wishlist. There is no saved-items object anywhere in the storefront or the admin data model, and Shopify is fairly open about leaving the job to apps: its own tutorial for building a customer account page uses a wishlist as the worked example.

Where the list is kept decides almost everything about how well it works. Attached to the customer record it survives signing in from another device, because the thing being remembered is the person. For a shopper with no account there is no durable identity to hang it on at all, so a guest list exists only in that browser until they sign in and something merges the two. That merge, rather than the heart icon, is the feature you are buying.

What to look for in a Favoris app

What happens to a guest list at sign-in: Most saving happens before anyone logs in, so the moment that matters is the one where an anonymous list becomes an account's list. Ask whether it merges, replaces or simply disappears, and try it during the trial with a real browser rather than trusting the bullet point.
Which generation of customer accounts it builds on: The extensions that put a wishlist page inside a customer account only work on the current version of accounts; the older one does not support them and is being retired. An app whose interface depends on the older pages is on a clock, so it is worth asking outright which it uses.
Alerts are a separate permission: Telling somebody their saved item is back in stock or cheaper means emailing them, and consent on Shopify is a recorded state with its own opt-in level and timestamp rather than a side effect of tapping a heart. Check the app records it properly, because a saved-item list is not a mailing list.

What does the Built for Shopify badge mean?

Built for Shopify
Built for Shopify is the highest level of recognition Shopify awards an app. To earn the badge, an app must meet Shopify's standards for safety, performance, ease of use, and proven usefulness: it cannot slow down the admin, storefront, or checkout, must integrate seamlessly into the Shopify admin, and must demonstrate quality through installs, reviews, and ratings over time. When comparing similar apps, preferring ones with the badge is a safe default. Learn more about the Built for Shopify badge →

Rankbase is made by Craftshift, a Shopify Partner building apps for product images, variants, and bulk catalog work. We built Rankbase to track the App Store rankings of our own apps first, then opened it to other developers, and this directory grew out of that work. The rankings on these pages are Shopify's own organic search results; we never edit them, including for our own apps.
