The old way of changing checkout is gone. The template that once let stores edit it was retired in two stages, first for the information, shipping and payment steps and later for the thank-you and order status pages, and both dates have passed. What replaced it is a set of separate mechanisms with quite different plan requirements, which is the source of most confusion in this area.
