Whether it can advertise something you do not actually offer: This is the real risk in the category. A widget that renders whatever you configure will happily promise instalments that vanish at checkout, and the customer discovers it at the worst possible moment. Prefer one that reads which providers are genuinely active rather than one you fill in by hand.
Check what you already display: If you use Shopify's own instalment product, promotional messaging comes with it. Look at your product page as a customer before assuming there is nothing there, because the most common outcome of installing one of these is two messages saying roughly the same thing in different fonts.
