Two different things answer this search, and Shopify has an opinion about one of them. The Buy Button is a real sales channel, included on every plan, made for embedding a product on a site that is not your Shopify store. Shopify's own documentation says it does not recommend using Buy Buttons on your Shopify online store or blog, because they can cause problems with the checkout process. The other is a cart permalink, a plain URL naming a variant and a quantity. Those have documented limits worth knowing: selling plans do not work with them, they cannot bypass a storefront password, and line item properties are capped and must be encoded.
