PayPal is already a checkout option Shopify offers directly, so nothing needs to be installed to take the money. What ranks instead is a much narrower job that exists because of where Shopify's tracking pipeline ends: when you fulfill an order and enter a tracking number, that number is used to keep the customer informed, on the order status page, in emails and in the Shop app. It does not travel to the payment processor.
