Shopify has no concept of a seller. The vendor on a product is a plain text string, not a link to anybody, and there is no account type in the platform that means "this person owns these products and may see these orders". What to look for in a Multi Vendor app

Whether you actually need outside sellers: Two different products share this keyword. One lets independent sellers list and manage their own products. The other splits revenue on a catalog you own and control, which is consignment or affiliate accounting rather than a marketplace. The second is much simpler to run, so be sure you need the first.
How vendors get paid, and who is liable: Ask which payment provider handles the split, whose account holds the money in between, what happens on a refund after a payout, and who is the merchant of record for tax. This is the part that gets expensive when it is wrong.
