Importing a supplier listing sounds like copying and is really a translation, because the two catalogs are shaped differently. A Shopify product allows three options and no more, with every combination of them a variant. What to look for in a Alibaba app

What the import does with variants: Try one messy product before committing: a listing with four attributes and a long size range. Look at what came across, what got merged, whether images landed against the right options, and how long the resulting titles are.
Whether stock and price actually stay in sync: Only some of these claim it clearly. Ask how often, what happens when a supplier removes a variant, and whether a sync can overwrite a price you edited by hand. Inventory writes can be made conditional so a live sale and a sync do not race; ask whether the app does that or simply overwrites.
What the customer is told about delivery: Long transit times are the defining risk of this model and the leading cause of chargebacks. Decide what your product page and checkout say, and check whether the app helps you say it or leaves it to you.
Research tools are not importers: Some results here find trending products and never touch your catalog. Those are a legitimate separate purchase; just do not expect an order to reach a supplier through one.
