The usual assumption about this category is that Shopify's reporting is locked behind a plan, and that is not what the gap is: Shopify says the main analytics features are available on any subscription. What is missing is everything that would let a report run without you. Nothing native schedules a recurring export, and nothing native delivers a file anywhere except your own downloads folder, so a weekly file for your accountant, a nightly feed to a supplier or a sheet your buyer opens on Monday is someone else's job.

The exports themselves are also narrower than they look. An order export is a fixed set of columns you cannot choose, and it either downloads or gets emailed to you depending on how many orders you asked for. A product export leaves the images out. Metafields and line item properties, which is where most stores keep the details that make their catalog theirs, are simply not in the file.
