The word suggests jewellery-store apps in general. The search returns something much narrower and much more interesting: calculators that price a piece from the live metal rate. Weight times purity times today's gold price, plus a making charge, plus stones, shown to the customer as an itemised breakup on the product page. If you sell by weight rather than by sticker price, this is your category.

Shopify cannot do any of that natively, and the reason is a single field. A variant's price is one Money value in the shop currency. It is stored, not computed, so a live rate can only overwrite it on a schedule. Nothing evaluates a formula when the page loads.

The obvious workaround is closed too. Cart Transform can override a line's price, but only development stores and Plus stores may use apps with those operations, and Cart Transform is not on the list of functions allowed to make network calls. Shopify's own advice for that situation is to write metafields before the buyer reaches checkout. Which is exactly what these apps do, and why "live" here always means resynced, never priced at the moment of sale.

Which rate source, and for which market: Gold has many published rates and they differ by country, association and purity. One app naming its source is not the norm here, so ask, and check the source is the one your customers would quote back at you.
Whether the formula matches yours: Making charge as a percentage, as a rate per gram, or as a flat amount; wastage expressed as a percentage of metal weight; stone value entered separately; tax on top. Write your own calculation out and check the app can express it exactly, because a formula you have to approximate is a formula you will be correcting by hand.
Where the computed price is written: Most of these write back onto the product or variant. Ask what they match on, since SKU matching and title matching fail differently, and ask what a failed sync leaves behind: a stale price on a live product is worse than an error.
Your own attribute scheme: Shopify's standard taxonomy has jewellery categories with material and type attributes, but metal purity sits only under earrings, and nothing anywhere models a making charge. So every vendor invents its own metafields. Ask what they are named and whether you can read them, because that is your data and you will want it if you change apps.
