The premise most of these listings rest on is worth checking before you buy one. IndexNow, the protocol several of them implement, publishes its own list of participants: Microsoft Bing, Naver, Seznam and Yandex among them. Google is not on it. Google said some years ago that it would test the protocol and has not appeared on that list since. So an app that pings IndexNow when you publish a product is doing something real, and the search engine most merchants are thinking about is not the one receiving it.

Google does have a push mechanism, and it is narrow: its indexing API is documented as usable only for pages carrying job postings or livestream video. Not products, not collections, not blog posts. Meanwhile the sitemap these tools resubmit is one Shopify already builds and maintains for you, automatically, covering products, images, pages, collections and blog posts and updating when they change.

That leaves a genuine but smaller job: watching what is actually indexed, catching pages that fall out, and controlling crawling through the robots template, which Shopify exposes as a Liquid file that lets you add and remove rules inside its default groups rather than write your own from scratch. Several listings also sell visibility in AI assistants, measured by scores of their own devising. Treat those numbers as the vendor's, because no published method stands behind them.
