The top 10 apps merchants see when they search the Shopify App Store for facebook channel, in the exact order the store ranks them. Only Shopify's organic ranking is shown, never sponsored ads.
Updated September 8, 2026 · Organic rankingThe most important thing to know here is that buying inside Instagram is over. Shopify's own documentation for the Meta channel now describes shoppers selecting checkout on the seller's website and being redirected to your Shopify store, and notes that Meta is no longer acting as a marketplace tax facilitator for new orders. So any advice about customers completing a purchase without leaving the app is out of date, and the sales tax that goes with those orders is yours to handle.
The second thing is that there is one catalog. Shopify says the Meta channel "contains a single product catalog for shops on Facebook and Instagram, and for using with ads", and all products in it are available to all three. There is no separate ads-only catalog, which matters if you were hoping to advertise a different assortment than you display.
The third is that categories are not optional. Where customers check out, product categories are required, and Google product categories have to be at least two levels deep. Shopify fills these in automatically and warns that it might not find a match for every product, leaving you with a bulk editing job. Most third-party apps in this category earn their subscription in that gap, plus by sending the same feed on to other platforms.

Built for Shopify
Built for Shopify is the highest level of recognition Shopify awards an app. To earn
the badge, an app must meet Shopify's standards for safety, performance, ease of use,
and proven usefulness: it cannot slow down the admin, storefront, or checkout, must
integrate seamlessly into the Shopify admin, and must demonstrate quality through
installs, reviews, and ratings over time. When comparing similar apps, preferring
ones with the badge is a safe default.

We built Rankbase to track the App Store rankings of our own apps first, then opened it to other developers, and this directory grew out of that work. The rankings on these pages are Shopify's own organic search results; we never edit them, including for our own apps.
