A listing needs a category, it needs item specifics, the structured make, model, size, color and style values eBay matches searches against, and it needs a format, auction or fixed price. None of that exists in a Shopify product, which is why the connectors advertise category and attribute mapping and why that mapping, not the sync, is where the work actually is.
Inventory has its own mismatch. Shopify tracks stock per item per location, with quantity states like available, on hand, incoming and committed, and there is no concept of stock set aside for a channel.
