The 10 Best Cart Apps for Shopify
The top 10 apps merchants see when they search the Shopify App Store for cart, in the exact order the store ranks them. Only Shopify's organic ranking is shown, never sponsored ads.
Updated October 10, 2026 · Organic rankingYour theme very probably has a cart drawer already. Shopify's reference themes ship one as a component, and the cart note and custom attribute fields these apps advertise are plain theme markup rather than app features. What the theme does not give you is the merchandising: the recommendations, the bar counting up to a free-shipping threshold, the gift at the top tier, the countdown.
That is what this category actually is, whatever the names suggest. Not one of the leading listings is a drawer on its own; each is an offer layer that happens to arrive shaped like a drawer. Worth knowing, because it changes what you should be comparing. The panel is the free part.

What to look for in a Cart app
- Compare the offers, not the panel
- Since the drawer itself is theme furniture, the differences that matter are in the merchandising rules: what it recommends and on what basis, how tiered rewards are expressed, and whether a discount can be entered without leaving for checkout. Screenshots in this category all look alike for a reason.
- When the extra weight loads
- Shopify's own performance guidance is to render the drawer shell on page load and fetch the recommendations only when it opens. An app that pulls its offers on every page view instead is paying for merchandising with load time on pages nobody opens the cart from. Ask, or watch the network panel during the trial.
- Installing is not turning on
- These arrive as theme app embeds, and an app cannot switch its own embed on: somebody has to enable it in the theme editor. It is a small thing that accounts for a lot of "I installed it and nothing happened", and it also means removing the app cleanly is a theme-editor step too.

What does the Built for Shopify badge mean?
Built for Shopify
Built for Shopify is the highest level of recognition Shopify awards an app. To earn
the badge, an app must meet Shopify's standards for safety, performance, ease of use,
and proven usefulness: it cannot slow down the admin, storefront, or checkout, must
integrate seamlessly into the Shopify admin, and must demonstrate quality through
installs, reviews, and ratings over time. When comparing similar apps, preferring
ones with the badge is a safe default.
