The 10 Best Annoucement Bar Apps for Shopify
The top 10 apps merchants see when they search the Shopify App Store for annoucement bar, in the exact order the store ranks them. Only Shopify's organic ranking is shown, never sponsored ads.
Updated October 10, 2026 · Organic rankingYour theme almost certainly has one already. Shopify's reference theme ships an announcement bar section that holds several messages, rotates between them on a timer you switch on, and gives each one a line of text and a link. What it does not have is any of the things that make a bar useful past the first week: no schedule, no country targeting, no countdown, and no way to put the message anywhere except the header, because the native section is locked to that part of the page.
So this category is not selling you a bar, it is selling the rules around one. Different messages to different countries, a sale banner that appears on Friday and stops on Monday without anybody remembering, several bars in rotation, and placement on pages the header section cannot reach. Worth noting that the feature most associated with these apps, the countdown timer, is actually named by only a minority of the leading listings for this exact search.

What to look for in a Annoucement Bar app
- Scheduling is the feature that pays for itself
- A banner announcing a sale that ended nine days ago does more damage than no banner, and it is the single most common thing wrong with a storefront. If an app only lets you turn a message on and off by hand, it has not solved the problem you actually have.
- Where it needs to appear
- The native section lives in the header and nowhere else. If your message belongs on the cart, on particular product pages, or only to visitors from one country, that placement is exactly what you are paying for, so check it specifically rather than assuming site-wide means anywhere.
- Somebody has to switch it on
- These arrive as theme embeds, and an app cannot enable its own embed: it has to be turned on in the theme editor. That accounts for a good share of "I installed it and nothing happened", and it is also the step to remember when you remove one.

Built for Shopify
Built for Shopify is the highest level of recognition Shopify awards an app. To earn
the badge, an app must meet Shopify's standards for safety, performance, ease of use,
and proven usefulness: it cannot slow down the admin, storefront, or checkout, must
integrate seamlessly into the Shopify admin, and must demonstrate quality through
installs, reviews, and ratings over time. When comparing similar apps, preferring
ones with the badge is a safe default.
